Remy and Zeph are frequent Short Stack Shoppers. Well, their mom is and she loves her pups! This brother and sister duo love to lounge out by their giant water bowl, aka their pool. Even when there are plenty of dog bowls full of water, they prefer the refreshing drink of pool water. Perhaps the Florida sun has gotten to them or maybe they know something we don't! Either way, these two awesome dogs now have their very own custom made personalized dog toys.

The best way to describe Loki is a mix between Benji and a cyclone. When we were visiting the North last year we woke to find Loki's bed in shreds, foam and fabric thrown about in every which way. He'd been a pretty good dog in those more recent months, but his jealousy of our pup Taz visiting got the best of him. Loki and Taz get along well, but since Taz was allowed to sleep in the room with us, Loki decided to voice his complaints. He's been known to destroy just about any toy you can find, even those "indestructible" Kong balls. He's got a jaw of steel and loves to chew.
When I made these new dog plushes, I thought about Loki and hoped to find a material and design to withstand his shredding abilities. Little, innocent-looking, and adorable Loki put it to the test... The only Penguins we see down here are African Penguins. They can live in warmer temperatures, so our hotter than most seasons don't bother them as much as their frosty pals. In the real world, these penguins probably don't need any extra clothing to keep warm, they have a special gland for keeping warm in cooler weather. However, the cartoon versions sure look adorable with theirs.
This week we're sharing our winter penguin stitches! Long ago, we brought a puppy named Taz along with us on a great adventure. It was supposed to be temporary, but we couldn't part with him once we had made ourselves a family. He is getting into his old age now, but you couldn't tell by looking at him. He's full of energy and life, loves to play and run around with his bigger "little sister," Pie. If we didn't know him from his younger years, we wouldn't be able to tell that he's almost 12 years old. He has a face of a puppy and the demeanor to match. He was our first baby and holds a very special place in our heart.
So when we decided to take on this new project of dog plushes, he was my test subject. Taz received the very first toy off of the presses. As soon as it hit the ground, he was thrilled. Taz loves a new toy. He loves to make it dirty as soon as possible, test it's durability by shaking it vigorously, and make sure it has great tossability (yes, I made that word up, but it works, so go with it). After he tested it out to his liking we threw it through the wash to test it's cleanability (yeah, another made up word, going with it, remember?). All tests came back with positive results and so the new Stack Shop item hit the shelves. There are few "off-season" wedding months here in Florida. Even when us locals are shivering and complaining about the freezing 60 degree weather, there are northerners who are more than happy to brave our "cold" temperatures to exchange vows on our beautiful beaches. No matter where or when a bride is planning their big day, changes are they have some ideas of what they want well before that time comes.
Today we're sharing five new guestbook signs that can be found in the Stack Shop! These new custom signs are 8 x 11 files, come in what ever format you'd prefer, and are completely customizable. These guestbook signs are a fun and unique way for their guests to share a bit of their wisdom and words. Print your sign anywhere you'd like and add an adorable frame and fun box for the notes to make a fun and interesting guest book. Here in Florida, we see a lot of winter birds. They start to flock down to us in the Fall and by Winter we have a full house in our yard of trees. It's one of the beautiful perks of being down south, we get to enjoy some of the northern wild life when it gets too cold for the feathered friends. The other day while sitting outside enjoying our 70 degree weather (Florida-brag), I noticed cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, wrens, hawks, hummingbirds, ducks, and a few unidentified birds taking advantage of our favorite oak tree. So today we're sharing a few Winter Stitches in honor of our Winter visitors, the birds.
